NYAC Board of Ordained Ministry engages Biblical Obedience and ends discrimination against LGBTQ candidates for ministry
God is a hard sell, because God will not be what we want God to be, and God will not tell us what we want to hear.
What the Discipline does is more sinister than exclusion; it is coercion and oppression. It has no way of knowing who is queer until we voluntarily identify ourselves.
We long to hear a word of prophetic exhortation from you, calling us to stand with our Muslim siblings!
The Gospel is compromised when it limits grace, when it fails to set us free.
I ask you, which is lawful in The United Methodist Church: to do good or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?

I have to tell my queer friends I love them and view them as full children of God – but my church doesn’t so they should try the Episcopal Church or the UCC.
How many times, in so many lives, does this story ring true? Too many to even imagine.
We are exhausted by church leaders whose fidelity to institutional covenants and rules trump their own personal commitments to Christ and to the gospel.
