Flashnet: RMN Convocation dates announced; Schaefer prayer vigils

stdate
From trainings in Ft. Collins and Atlanta to a concert in DC; from vigils in Memphis to a convocation in San Antonio, from marches in Texas and Jacksonville to a gathering in Ohio and all points inbetween, Biblical Obedience is breaking forth. Do you not perceive it? I pray that you will join me in celebrating in being the church that is mobilizing people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love! Save the date for our national gathering/convocation, join in prayer vigils for Frank Schaefer, and learn about some of the places ministry without fear is taking root!

PRAYER VIGILS FOR FRANK SCHAEFER

The Judicial Council, The UMC’s top court, will hear an appeal this Oct 22 at 11AM Central of a decision to reinstate Rev. Schaefer who originally lost his ministerial credentials after performing a same-sex marriage ceremony for his son. When the Council meets Oct 22-25 in Memphis, the Rev. Schaefer appeal is only one of five decisions being made concerning LGBTQ inclusion in the church.
