We tell stories because they engage our whole selves – feelings, thoughts, hopes, cares, and values. Stories give us the vocabulary to express faith and values through lived experience rather than abstract debate and because stories engage our emotions, they inspire commitment and action. When we tell stories together, we find renewed energy from re-discovering our own deeply held commitments and ignite the passion of others. By framing our commitment to full inclusion in story, we build relationships based in our diverse experiences and common values. Each perspective is valued; no story gets the last word.
Your reconciling story will be unique and will touch lives as none other can.
If you have been trained in the Called To Witness Campaigns: All Mans All, or Believe Out Loud, you probably already know how to tell your story! Please consider taking a few minutes to prepare your story remembering what you learned. For a refresher, see the How To Prepare Your Story handout.
You have a story to tell, regardless of participation in Called to Witness campaigns. Reflect upon your values for inclusion, and use How To Prepare Your Story to focus and refine your video. If you have more questions, please call RMN Outreach at 773-736-5526. We will help you prepare your story.
