Reconciling Ministries Network
Join your voice to other faithful United Methodists in support of removing anti-gay discrimination in our ordination policies!
We are the church together—laity, pastors, and bishops!
The Statement of Counsel to the Church-2011 by retired bishops encouraged many of us. The 36 original signers welcome others to join them who share their concern. Bishops can add their name to the list by contacting Bishop Don Ott.
As we celebrate the clarity with which the Statement demands removal of anti-gay ordination policy, we also know that many active bishops also share in this commitment due to direct experience with qualified, gifted, called lesbian and gay clergy.
Please take action and send this text to your active bishop now! If you are clergy or lay and want to add your support to the Retired Bishops Statement, check the box labeled "I want to publicly declare my support" at the end of the page .
Bishop BISHOPS NAME HERE,
In your desire to be a bishop for the whole church, I encourage you to add your name to the Statement of Counsel to the Church-2011 released by retired bishops. It is clear the harm caused to the Body of Christ is unnecessary and that many United Methodists are ready to remove conflict causing anti-gay policies in our Book of Discipline.

Your leadership makes a difference! Please let the church know of your personal conviction and that you can truly be a bishop for the whole church and also be clear about your support before retirement. Please contact Bishop Don Ott and join other faithful bishops serving our church.
Sincerely,
